Instructions

1

Set your challenge goal

Decide how many books to read and the timeframe (weeks or convert months to weeks).

2

Estimate book length & reading speed

Use typical page counts and your average pages/hour for realistic pacing.

3

Adjust weekly commitments

Split reading time across the days you typically read. Results show minutes needed per day.

Formula

Total Pages = Books × Average Pages

Pages per Week = Total Pages ÷ Weeks

Minutes per Week = Pages per Week ÷ (Pages/hour) × 60

Minutes per Day = Minutes per Week ÷ Reading Days

Example: 24 books, 52 weeks, 320 pages/book → 1,280 pages/month → 246 pages/week ≈ 5.9 hours/week at 42 pp/h.

Challenge Tips

  • Create themed months (memoir March, translated April).
  • Mix long novels with novellas to keep momentum.
  • Use audiobooks to boost weekly minutes while commuting.
  • Track progress in a reading log or Goodreads challenge.
